RELEASE: New Scrub-a-Dub 7th May 2012

“Scrub a dub’s sixth installment comes in hard with a double-A- side plate straight outta the Mungo’s yard. Hire and Removal featuring Eek-A-Mouse is the most requested and heaviest tune yet on Scrub a dub. Solo Banton re-licks his “Kung Fu Master” vocal (originally recorded with Disrupt on Jahtari) in a darker tone bolstered by Ruben Da Silva’s sweet vocal style. The Drunken Dub (a Shaolin style favoured in Scotland) completes the heavyweight 12″. Don’t miss!” - Scrub-a-Dub Press Release.

A – Hire & Removal Refix ft. Eek-A-Mouse
AA1 – Kung Fu Know How ft. Solo Banton & Ruben Da Silva
AA2 - Kung Fu Drunken Dub

Release date: 7th May 2012
Formats: 12″ heavyweight vinyl, digital formats.

Pre-release vinyl is available now from the Scotch Bonnet Records Shop, alongside exclusive dubplate cuts in .wav format.

Scotch Bonnet invites you back to Nelson Mandela Place to indulge your bass urges with some reggae – Rio-style, as residents Mungo’s Hi Fi and Chungo-Bungo provide the vibes with a special guest who’s one in a gazillion (and did we mention he’s Brazilian?).

Digitaldubs main man Marcus ‘Scientista’ is touching down in Glasgow to show us what has made his sound predominant in South America. His latest album “#1″ features foundation legends Ranking Joe and Earl 16 as well as the best young Brazilian vocalists like Jeru Banto and Dada Yute who he has championed and supported, not least by building his own scoop bins and running the biggest sound system dances all over the continent.

Production ace Produ[k]t will be adding a touch of Rio to Chambre 69 to make sure the vibes are just right, alongside the power of Mungo’s Hi Fi Soundsystem for this top ranking dance. Make it a date, don’t be late.

Two new video’s from Charlie P in February.

Here’s two films shot at the February Scotch Bonnet session with Charlie P, Chungo-Bungo and ourselves, produced and shot by Bartosz Madejski.

The first, “String Up a Sound”, covers the set up of the night, and the second, “Pull Up a Sound”, covers the event itself.
