EVENT: Digital Dubs in Glasgow 27th April 2012
Scotch Bonnet presents…
Brasil’s #1 sound Digital Dubs
with residents Chungo-Bungo & Mungo’s Hi Fi
Friday 27th April
Chambre 69
69 Nelson Mandela Place, Glasgow G2 1QY
Scotch Bonnet invites you back to Nelson Mandela Place to indulge your bass urges with some reggae – Rio-style, as residents Mungo’s Hi Fi and Chungo-Bungo provide the vibes with a special guest who’s one in a gazillion (and did we mention he’s Brazilian?).
Digitaldubs main man Marcus ‘Scientista’ is touching down in Glasgow to show us what has made his sound predominant in South America. His latest album “#1″ features foundation legends Ranking Joe and Earl 16 as well as the best young Brazilian vocalists like Jeru Banto and Dada Yute who he has championed and supported, not least by building his own scoop bins and running the biggest sound system dances all over the continent.
Production ace Produ[k]t will be adding a touch of Rio to Chambre 69 to make sure the vibes are just right, alongside the power of Mungo’s Hi Fi Soundsystem for this top ranking dance. Make it a date, don’t be late.
Pupajim and Stand High Patrol for the last night in Stereo
You have to make it down for this.
“The music is like a underground exploration…and I am specialized in the tunnel excavation.”
Pupajim is fast emerging as one of Europe’s best new vocalists from any genre and I cannot get my head around how a Frenchman from Brest can deliver such insightful and playful lyrics in English delivered cooler and deadlier than Nitty Gritty on ice.
“Do you want my DNA? Mr President there is no way. I can give you some but only in a spray.”
He is accompanied by the full Stand High Patrol in the shape of Mac Gyver and Rootystep and the sounds these guys are producing are phenomenal. With releases on Jahtari and Scrub a Dub and collaborations with the Nextmen and Tayo they are fast becoming International Farmers. Check their tunes TV Addict, Amplifier and Business of war before you come so you can sing along.
And needless to say – get down early. This is the last night Mungo’s Hi Fi is playing for now in Stereo. We want to say a big thanks to all the staff and massive who have been brilliant.

O.B.F. is probably the best sound system in the massive dub reggae scene in France at the moment. Growing out of the Geneva squat and free party scene they have a slew of the heaviest dubplate productions which they present with unparalleled enthusiasm.
Diegojah is making a big splash at the moment with his rough and tough vocals with an authentic early dancehall growl.
Chucking these guys together with Mungo’s Hi Fi will surely be an explosive mix – we advise getting in on it early and wear protective clothing.
